This afternoon, Jason, Ruth, Nick, and I had planned on helping an elderly lady with her yardwork. She was expecting company this weekend and wanted her yard to look immaculate. When we arrived (after hunting for her street that wasn't exactly accessible the same way it was before they extended Myra Road), it was pouring rain. She opened the screen door and said, "Let's wait for a sunny day, okay?" We were all disappointed not to be able to help her today, but in all honesty, her yard looked beautiful even when we got there. We wouldn't have had much to do.
Since we were going to be headed back into CP anyway, Ruth came home with us for lunch. We had enchiladas. Following lunch, Ruth decided she wanted to make cookies. She's a superb cookie-baker and loves to utilize our kitchen whenever she can. (Even though it's almost always piled with dirty dishes. We can't seem to keep our dishwasher empty and our counters clear.)
So she decided to make no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies. The result, as you can see above, was beautiful. And, which you probably can't tell quite as well from the above photo (please don't lick the monitor), quite delicious.
