Ruth's roommate from last year, Traci, is visiting WW this week. She is helping her sister get settled in the dorm while also taking the opportunity to visit friends before she heads to Portland to finish her schooling. It was a lot of fun to see her - she became like another little sister to me last year and we're all sad she won't be around this year. Ruth, Traci, Kayla and I went to lunch today at Taco Bell and then finished off with ice cream cones at Baskin Robbins. We had a good time, and Kayla even let me eat without fussing! Aunt Foofie did a good job of keeping her happy.
Then, tonight, I dropped Kayla off at Auntie KarrLayn's house and surprised Jason with a date night when he got off work. I'd packed a picnic dinner (complete with cranberry sauce and Martinelli's) and we drove to a park and enjoyed a quiet dinner under a big tree on the grass. Date nights are fun! And a HUGE thank you to KarrLayn for watching Kayla for two hours for us so we could enjoy some worry-free time together.
