Interactions

Today I went with my friend Merrie Beth to St. Mary's hospital for a weekly meeting for new moms. Neither of us had gone before, so we decided to go together. It's two hours long, and moms can come with their babies for any or all of that time. There is a lactation consultant/nurse there the entire time, and she answers any questions, checks babies' latch-ons if the mothers nurse during the meeting, and just facilitates the get-together. There are sandwiches and crackers, as well as water and hot drinks. Moms can weigh their babies and check their growth, and chit-chat together about problems they're having, fun experiences with their growing bundles of joy, and just network with and support each other as new moms. We had a really good time. Above is a photo of Kayla and Chloe, Merrie Beth's little girl, who is a day older than Kayla. Care to venture a guess as to which one is Kayla? (I'll put the answer below.)

Tonight Ruth came home with Jason after work. She had dinner with us and we had fun spending some time with her. She attempted her regular "self-portrait" shot, and after several tries, finally got both of us in it. Hence the big grin and obvious laughter.

While Ruth and I were playing with the camera, Jason was holding Kayla. She was making some pretty hilarious faces, and Ruth managed to capture one of the best ones. Anyone want to caption this shot? It makes me laugh out loud every time I see it.

ANSWER: The one on the left is Kayla.

  2. Wow! What a difference in sizes in the babies for only being one day apart. And that last photo of Kayla with the funny face reminds me a little bit of Morgan. I remember her making a face similar to that one!
