A Flower in the Sun

After being sick on Tuesday and the weather being nasty on Wednesday, Damie, MB and I finally got to go walking tonight. The sun was out so I figured I should probably cover up Kayla's fair skin, so she got to wear this little hand-me-down sunhat I found in a box in her closet. It's the first one she's worn and she actually kept it on her head! It's almost too small for her already, so I need to find a couple more and buy them before she outgrows this because we'll be using them a lot this summer!

Day's End

I took this today on the way home. It was taken with my BlackBerry and through the window of the car, so it's not the best quality, but the sunset was beautiful enough that it almost doesn't matter. The foreground is a vineyard.

Still Life

I snapped this with my phone as we were on our way home tonight. My little BlackBerry occasionally pleasantly surprises me. This is one of my new favourite shots, though it's nowhere near perfect.

Spring?

I could not believe how beautiful it was here this morning. After what felt like (and probably was) weeks of gloomy grey and dreary fog (which I like occasionally, but THAT MUCH?!?), the sun chased all the clouds away, blue sky made its first (I think) debut of 2010 and everything sparkled from last night's rain. I stood out on my front porch to take this picture and heard birds chirping all over the place. Amazing! And look - the grass is even turning green! Guess the groundhog was wrong this year...

A Change in Perspective

For the past month all I've seen out my office window has been fog, fog and more fog. There was one day I couldn't even see the church, which is half a block away. Today, though, the sun came out and it surprised us all...unfortunately it came out just before sundown and was therefore only around for a few minutes before sinking below the horizon. This was the view out my office window before that happened.

Bloody Weather...

Today it couldn't make up its mind. Here the sun emerges from the fog...after it rained all night. And this is out the back door. Out the living room window it was grey and dreary...and still foggy. I was so confused! Not long after this the sun went away and the wind picked up. It blew the fog away, but it's been windy ever since.

Reflections

I know, I know, original blog title. I'm not ALWAYS creative. This afternoon (this was around 4:30) when I left my office to go sign a paper at the bank, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful colour of the air around me. Things were glowing. And everything was wet. I hadn't known it was raining. It had cleared and was no longer raining, but as the sun settled into the horizon it was casting a beautiful array of golds, pinks and yellows over the campus. This was the view from the front steps of my office building. There was even a rainbow for a short amount of time - a full arc!

Burning Skies

That...is the sun. It's Christmas Day, and what a sight to wake up to. The clouds were so thick you could actually look directly at the sun, and it was glowing determinedly. Fog moved in later in the day and covered everything in a shroud of dull grey, but the early morning was a breathtaking scene to behold! This is the view out Jason's parents' back window.

Greet the Day

What a way to start the week. This is the view I had while eating breakfast this morning.

When I Rise

In spite of having to go back to work, and in spite of my internal clock being slightly off due to DST happening on Sunday, there is one good thing about the mornings this week: The sunrises are really pretty to watch. This was taken out front as I was leaving for work.

End of the Day

The sunset was beautiful tonight, even though it was super cold. I think it was raining in the southwest, the direction in which this picture was taken. It looked like it might be decent, but when I went out to take the picture it was freezing! The thermometer said it was around 40 degrees. Brrr! It's going to be a cold night.
