The big event of the day today was the emergency convening of the university's Emergency Management Team. With all the hype around the world about swine flu, we needed to get together and discuss what steps we needed to be taking, and review the plan we'd set in place about two years ago when there was a huge scare over the bird flu. So we met for about an hour and a half, had a good discussion over what we need to do to be prepared and avoid panic on our campus, and most of us left with new assignments in our notebooks. Really, I'm glad I'm on this team. It keeps me informed...and sometimes keeps me from panicking.

Swine Flu Preparedness

Man, I'd almost forgotten about bird flu. Remember how they said we were all going to die? Somebody didn't tell them that Y2K was supposed to throw the whole world back to the dark ages first.
ReplyDeleteI think the Swine Flu scare is like Y2K and the bird flu. Much ado about nothing! I am not changing my lifestyle because of it. ...and I always wash my hands a lot.
